Another convenient method for grant suspension is to contact the SASSA team via their WhatsApp line. Here’s the complete process:

  1. Save the SASSA WhatsApp Number: 082 046 8553.
  2. Type ‘Cancel SASSA R350 grant’ and send it in the chat box.
  3. Lastly, give your South African ID card number and related Phone Number details.

After confirming your cancellation request, the team will begin the process. If you have been given an R370 grant, then you can send them a message with ‘Cancel SASSA R370 grant’ instead. Refuges and Permit Holders will be asked to provide their Valid File Number and Passport details.
